What Family Means to Me

To me… family means unconditional love, acceptance, and support. It means that no matter what, we will always be there for one another. It means meeting each another where we are at. It means laughing together and having fun.

In my home, our family is an ever-expanding group of people. It includes all of the people that make a difference in our lives – my partner, my kids, my immediate and extended family, foster children that come in and out of our home, my ex-wife and her extended family, friends that might as well be family, and our children’s birth families.

What I Love About Being an Attorney

I love being an attorney because, as cliché as it sounds, I have the opportunity to help people every single day. The absolute BEST part of my job is having the privilege to help families grow through adoption. Every single time I am in court for our adoptive families, I am touched by the commitment and love that the parents have for their children. For so many, the journey to parenthood was long and hard-fought, and it is an amazing honor to play a small part in the completion of that journey.

What I Do When I’m Not Working

I absolutely love spending time with my kids, especially being outdoors and enjoying the fresh air together. I enjoy the beach – it has always been such a source of comfort and consistency for me. I try to catch a beach sunrise as often as I can. I love music – whether it is live on stage or blasting in my car. It is good for the soul!
